I have known Ed Pincombe for a long time. He was one of the few graphic designers/illustrators I knew in the area where I grew up. It was a month or so prior to designing his site when I bumped into him at a show. When we got to catching up he had asked if I was available to throw together a site for him. Ed and I have seen eye to eye on lots of issues when it came to design so I knew this was going to be a lot of fun and it was going to be a project that would take on a life of it’s own.
Ed’s illustration skill speaks for itself, so his decision for a clean and simple layout was one that I wholeheartedly agreed with, and to make things even better… he designed himself one hell of a nice-looking logo. With these elements to work with my job just became a whole-lot easier.
After sending me a few examples of sites showcasing the work of artists doing similar things he was doing. The decision to create a wordpress site was one that I was confident in. This would enable him to upload how ever many images he wanted as blog posts with commenting capabilities.
It took 1 evening for me to build the framework and 1 afternoon with him present to knock this one out. Here is the final result:
I am really enjoying making these custom WP login screens, it’s just a little something extra to make the experience of using WP for your own site, a bit more enjoyable. Here is Ed’s:
